Rhynes is a family-owned business. The family has lived on and had the business on the family farm since 1964. Bill and Lou Rhyne began buying and selling antiques by knocking on doors in the Chattanooga area. Bill also hauled loads of antiques from Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Over the years they operated several antique shops and sold at auctions. They loved the business! With their love of antiques and desire to make beautiful and great items more available to more people, they began importing antique reproductions from many different countries. The importing has continued for over 55 years. Now the business is owned by their son-in-law and their youngest daughter, Bob and Jovanna Gurley.
Rhynes remains a wholesale-only business, importing directly with new containers arriving regularly. By looking at the website, you will get an idea of the great variety we carry. Bill and Lou Rhyne started their business selling small, decorative metal and glassware home decor over 50 years ago. The husband and wife duo loved the business that started right on the family farm. Their humble beginnings of buying and selling antiques started with knocking on doors in the Chattanooga area; they would also haul loads of antiques from other states across the country. The Rhynes would sell their findings at auctions and the several antique shops they operated through the years.
With their experience, they had the foresight to know that the demand for antiques was greater than the supply. They used their love of antiques to make these beautiful items more easily available and began importing antiques from different countries. 55 years later, Rhyne & Son is now a staple of their communityâselling to small business owners across the country and some European countries!
Now owned and operated by their youngest daughter and son-in-law, this third-generation, family-owned business sells a variety of antique reproduction and home decor items. Their easy-to-shop website allows you to search for your favorite antiques like glassware, cast iron, furniture, licensed products, garden art, and so much more!
Some of their most popular items are their furniture pieces, which come in several styles including farmhouse, industrial, primitive, and painted.
