- Start out with the new. Don’t just follow what you think you know or what you heard may have worked in the past. Don’t even think about the things you learned in college. Of course, that stuff is important. However, it may not work the same way now. Technology and consumers are always changing. So, what works today? Where can you advertise yourself to make sure you reach your target market?
- Content marketing is important to know. This is what you feature on your website. Therefore, you want your website content to be of value to your customers. No one wants to visit a site and immediately be turned off by it. This is absolutely no good for the both of you. Make sure that your customers are satisfied with the click they made to get to your website that they want to bookmark it and eventually return.
- Email marketing is a must. Consumers have their phones on them almost 24/7. Whether it’s for personal or business reason, checking their email maybe a daily ritual for them. There are numerous reasons to send out emails. You can send out a monthly newsletters that contain new products in your store, promotions or just what’s going on in your store. Customers will feel connected to your store. Also, you can even send out coupons or let them know of new sales that are going on. They may check their email while they’re out and about and see that you have a sale going on, therefore, they may want to make a stop at your store.
- Build up your network. Networking is an important part of any business. Don’t just focus on the number of your network, focus on the quality. It doesn’t do any good if you have 100 people within your network, yet only 5 out of those 100 actually help you out. If your network consists of only 10 people, yet 6 out of those 10 actually benefit you, that’s better than the 100. It’s definitely about people helping people out and benefiting from each other.
- Internet marketing is a must for your website and business. Consumers spend a lot of their time being socially connected. They do most of their research online now. So, make sure you have an actual website where your customers and potential ones can visit to see what your business is all about. Your website is their first impression to your store, so make it good.
- Actually do research. Like every business, you have competitors. It’s important that you actually do research on your competitors are and how you guys compare and contrast. How do you stand out from them? How can you stand out from your competitors? These are important questions to ask yourself so you can give your customers a reason to visit your store instead of theirs.
There are various ways to market your business. However, it’s important to start out simple. The key is to find out who you are really trying to target. Learn all about your target market and find out how you can actually reach them. Is it through the Internet, television ads or even print ads? How can you reach them and entice them into your store?
