This weeks marketing tip of the week will focus on social media tips. Everyone probably already knows about social media, but lets try out some new tactics for the fast approaching year of 2011. Social media is one of the best ways to get your customers involved and to get them coming into your store. It keeps customers up-to-date on YOUR store.
First off, do you have a social media account that connects to your clientele? If not, get one…NOW! Are you using it? Have you monitored to what works better with your customers and what doesn’t? Don’t fret, start the new year off right by using these great tactics to help get customers into your store and increase those sale numbers! To get you started, here are are 4 marketing tips to set you in the right direction.
What Works, What Doesn’t?
There’s a variety of different social media platforms that you can use to reach your customers through. During the brand new year, test the ones that work best for YOUR store. Which one do you have the most interaction with? Does this platform seem to have more of my customers on it? Just keep asking yourself these questions and jot them down to keep track of them. Make a chart or a poster board. Create something that you can look at visually and understand what is working and what is not.
After you’ve monitored that, decide which words work best with your customers. Again, you can monitor this with clickthroughs or monitor how your customers react. Change it up, which can be a simple changing of the words “Come in” to “Check out”. Another way to see which works best is to ask your customers. They’re your number one source for information. Ask them what they like best. This year your main goal through social media should be to determine what works and what doesn’t.
Provide Worthy Content
A content without any value or meaning is useless. Why post it on social media? Wouldn’t that be extremely pointless? Make sure what you’re posting through social media has meaning. Like new and exciting products you’ve just got in, pictures of your products or sales and promotions. That’s one of the best ways to get your customers into the store. Keeping them updated on new products will excite them.
A customer might see a bracelet they absolutely love and will come in the next day just to buy it. Go beyond the normal “Hi, hope everyone is doing well. We’ve got new products in” and keep them excited with pictures and details on what new wholesale products you have just received.
Promote, Promote, Promote!
Promotions within your store are great advertisements. Plus, a great marketing strategy. Customers will see your exciting promotion and will have to come in! Promote coupons or a buy one get one deal that you have going on. Just something that will get them into the store. Another bonus, make it fun for them. Possibly, the first customer that comes through the doors with this coupon gets 50% off and the rest get 20% off. It’ll keep customers interested and paying even more attention to you.
Ask!
A simple, “Hey, what brought you in today. Did you see that post on our Facebook page?”, is a great question to ask your customers. First, you find out if that post worked. Second, if they didn’t; you can introduce them to your page. Ask the most important people in your store what works best for them and what draws them in. This is the key tip when monitoring your social media platforms. Your most important customers will tell you what they liked and what they didn’t like. Even what they would like to see out of you. So that can help you determine what you put out there on your page. Just ask, it’s that simple!
These 4 social media tips are here to help you get started on an increase in sales and attracting more and more customers. Just monitor, provide worthy content and ask! Your customers will appreciate your work that you put into reaching them and getting them involved. Plus, it’s a great way to start the new year!
