Many people walk in and out of your store everyday. They come in looking for various reasons and have their own way of shopping. Not everyone shops the same, and this is a must to understand. It will dictate how you approach and sell to them. What type of customers are out there? FGmarket has a few different types of consumers and how you can sell to them.
Personal Customers – These customers purchase items for their family or household reasons. They purchase items that are used in the household like cleaning supplies or food, buying clothing for the family, or cell phones for communication between the family. Market towards the family needs. Be personal, ask them how their family is, and build a relationship with them. Once you do that, you may understand their needs as a family and make recommendations.
Impulse Customers – These type of customers buy products unplanned. They make swift buying decisions that they immediately fall in love with, like their features. Have items that are big sellers where they can be noticed and don’t forget to place items near the cash wrap.
Need Based Consumers – You’ll find that these consumers purchase items only when they need it. If they need something for a specific reason, they’ll purchase it. How can you market to these customers? Give them a reason to visit your store. Show them that you have some excellent products or services that they absolutely need.
These are just a few customer types. You’ll find more and that there is a different way to sell to each one of them. It’s all about reading them, understanding them, and knowing the best way to sell to them.
