Antelope Beads is a jewelry company that has a slightly different start-up story than most businesses. The founder, Laura Bittner, was inspired by a trip to Kenya in 2006, where she witnessed a fair trade co-op that primarily employed single mothers making special Kazuri beads. These high-quality beads are noted for their beautiful colors and textures.
This led to her founding Antelope Beads, located in Boulder, Colorado, where she now provides many more high-quality beads to customers all around the world.
These beads include those made by Artisan and Fair Trade dealers such as Dorabeth Designs high-quality pewter components; Clay River Designs handmade porcelain beads; C Koop’s enameled beads; Samunnat Polymer Clay Beads, handmade in Nepal; and much more.
She views her endeavors as a part of a global circle of women helping women, and artists supporting each other’s art. For beads made from the highest quality materials on earth, and with utmost care put into each piece, check out Antelope Beads!
